Never Punish Loyal Employees for Being Honest

The common saying about honesty is that honesty is the best policy which represents that you should tell the truth with honesty as compared to telling a lie. Now, this saying might not be enough in organizations or with employers as generally when an employee becomes honest with the employer then it creates numerous challenges for the employee. This concept should be changed as employees should be motivated to tell things with complete honesty without fearing the negative consequences. Think of it like this when employees are honestly giving the feedback about company’s lacking and the manager is not listening to anyone then it only creates communication challenges for the manager. Some factors need to be mitigated to ensure a positive response for being honest.

Mitigating Personal Ego and Proud

The presence of ego is quite adverse and ineffective for even a common person let alone for an employer or a manager. This factor has the power to become the worst nightmare of an employer as when ego and pride are filled within that person then it only creates hatred toward others. For example, consider an employer with ego having employees saying honest things about the organization then it can only result in disposition, being shunned, and even low-performance appraisal as well. However, on the other hand when the employer mitigates ego and calmly listens to honest judgments then both can reach a synchronized solution and improve employee loyalty as well. This shows that punishing loyal employees for being honest cannot only be for the employee but for the employer and the overall organization as well.

Role of Humility and Insights

Humility is always beneficial as it can help employers listen to other’s opinions and respect them for overall positivity within the organization. When employers show humility then it can only motivate employees to share honest details about the work which could result in a more significant outcome. This aspect specifically shows that it is highly prohibited to unjustly punish loyal employees for only speaking with honesty. Moreover, when employers discuss growth with positive and in-depth insights with others then it shows care and respect and it eventually enhances employee’s will to be honest and work with more dedication.

The overall scenario shows that you can become an inspirational leader with only a few efforts toward ensuring humbleness and respect for employees. You need to have an open mind towards differing opinions as it can also help in developing creativity within the organization. Hence, it is true that employers must not punish employees for their honesty and focus on mastering the skills to lead with listening.
